Dan said: "I remember when it came out, does that make me old? LOL I was 9. Okay, now that I feel depressed that I am getting old "

In that case I'm the one that has to feel bad....In 74 I was 10 y.o........So we're from the same generation.....

John:
I don't feel so bad now. You're older than I.. :haha: I guess we entered military service close to the same year too. I entered service in May of '82. I would have had 30 years in this past May had I not resigned my commission. I am paying for thinking my body was invicable now too. :haha:
I have an appointment at 0900. When I return I will go through the publications and attempt to find you something that will be helpful.

I haven't forgot you. I found good reference on the early style copula, however not the late vision style like you have. I will continue to consult publications. Perhaps I will come up with something helpful for you soon.

Dan,

I have several reference pictures of my own, but I can't seem to find any clear picture of the commanders hatch inside. The locking system I saw so far is on my pic's in three different styles.....Was there no standard??

John.

I looked and looked and looked. I hope these will help you. I will continue to look for my M4 walk around. I think the spousal unit threw it away with her magazines.

Worked on the drivers and co-drivers hatch today. The hatches lacked a bit of detail, so I tried to replicate this:

wow I love the attention to detail it's absolutely excellent and precision workmanship!

Now I feel i'm not doing mine justice by just building and painting as is out of the box???

What to do?

Driverfrost,

The most important thing in our hobby is te have fun! As long as you enjoy every minute of your build, it's OK! I've seen models on contests with ship-loads of photo-etch, metal tracks and so non....with a very poor paintjob. I've also seen models straight out of the box, no additions but with a stunning finish, I'd go for the latter....
And if you're temted: just buy some Evergreen and take the plunge, try to duplicate some kit-parts, if they turn out better...use the, if not, use the kit part or try again....That's how I started.

Remember...have fun!! John.

BTW: thank you very much for the compliments.....
