I'm aware that the level of smoke is too high to be realistic ...And I don't use that level when I drive my tank ...
That level of smoke should be seen only to simulate a cold engine starting and should only come in short bursts when there's a quick change in the engine R.P.M. ...( acceleration , deceleration )...
That being said ; it's always easier to cut down on the smoke level when it's too high ( just need to lower the power to the heater element by adding a couple of diodes in line ) than try to get more smoke when it's not there to begin with ....

I prefer the high smoke output as I use my tanks outside the smoke is quickly diluted in the air.

I guess I should have been more specific about the video : I wasn't trying to show the high or low level of the smoke ; but I used a high level in order to show the patterns of the pulses and the behavior of the smoke itself when there's no drafts ....I'm using a mix of outboard motor oil and varsol in a 1/1 ratio ...The smoke doesn't leave any liquid residue and goes down to the ground ( more like dry ice ) ...It allows me to use small diameter ( 5/32 " ) exhaust pipes for my Stug III without having to clean them every 10 minutes ....

This is a brilliant idea that you have...... and the rotary valve is VERY clever indeed !
Please can I just ask do you power the 5 Volt fan straight from the 7.2 Volt source ? and can the fan take this overvoltage without any problems ?
Please can you also tell me what kind of outboard motor oil do you use ? is it a 2 or 4 stroke oil and what is VARSOL ??

Those 5 Volts mini fans can operate from 2.5 Volts up to 8 Volts without problems ....
As for varsol ; It's a brand of paint thinner ...
Although the mix ( paint thinner & motor oil ) gives some interesting results , I wouldn't want to use that over a prolong period of time ...
It certainly not the best solution for indoor use ; and the paint thinner is also interacting with the plastic of the rotary valve ; making the surface smooshy and causing the valve to seize in the cylinder chamber ....
To solve that problem , I change the lay out of my design ...
In the original model , I had : the mini fan ,smoke chamber , rotary valve and exhausts ..
Now , I'm experimenting with : the mini fan , rotary valve , smoke chamber , and exhausts ...

So now I am disturbing the air flow getting in the smoke chamber ; whereas before I was disturbing the smoke flow coming out of the smoke chamber ...So this way I don't have to deal with liquid residue plugging the rotary valve ....

Look for part #: (RWF) WL14-1 14 ohm 5 % 1 W Wire Wound resistor $0.50
They have a nice supply of electronic equipment and it's worthed to browse their catalog ....
If I recall ; the minimum order is $ 10.00 ....
If you have any trouble to get these , just send me a P. M. with your mailing address and I"ll send you 2 or 3 of them with the wicks ....

As for the wiring diagram ; I'm already working on an improved version of the re generator and I should be able to post a new video this week with new pics and all the infos ....

The 14 ohm resistor is not available anymore but the 18 ohm is still available. Having a hard time looking for those parts here in Malaysia zzz

The 18 OHMS don't last very long....I still have some 14 OHms left...
