I may name the LVTP-7 "Reef & Beef" to go along with the same theme for both of them. I guess the next one I make should be the LVTP-5 from Viet Nam. I just may be getting back up with you Colin for some of the 21 mm wheels if I do. I would need at least 36 of them to do it. I still have a lot to do to detail this one yet, but it is something to think about.
Hi Stevie, The maiden voyage was held this past Sunday in the creek. Everything went great, and the creek looked just like a jungle river somewhere. There is a short video of it posted on a u-tube link from this past Sunday on this thread. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Herman
No problem, got as many as you need, they're not a bad wheel either, just a damn shame there's no Axis armour that used a wheel of that diameter.
Been a little out of touch of late. Herman, Sir just seen your video on youtube, all my childhood dreams come true ! Words fail me, mate you've done yourself proud there, So much so that, despite all the work and private issues I am co-incidentally having to deal with at the moment, I have promised myself to to get on and finish the LVT (A) 1. Bloody marvellous, thank you so much for sharing it with us. I will of course update, and can only hope that I can achieve as a quality a model as you have.
best wishes and thank you
Nick
Hay Nick, Family comes first in everything. Thanks for those kind words about my efforts, and glad to be of service. I am having some issues with my track right now however. The outside ends are breaking out when I go to full power, even in the water. I have decided that I will be switching it to full metal track when I finish some mods on them to attach the brass grousers I'm making. I will post pictures later when I get it working and looking like I want it to. I may have to remove the ballast that I put in it with the weight of the metal track over the plastic stuff. We'll see what it looks like in the water once I get them all done.
What tracks you using mate ?, Like you said on my thread, be interesting to see how the sherman tracks, which incidentally are going to be reversed so the chevrons act as scoops, get on. I am thinking of taking a dremel to them to thin the chevron down a bit which may mean that each link can shift more water, but thats going to be after the first water test I think. Other thing is I was worried that it would be really bouyant but as stuff is going on, the weight is increasing. I guess the scale model is reflecting the real deal as I understand they only had about 2-300 track miles before needing a refit. Still I got one side completely done and planning to have it fitted out for a run up within the week. Fingers crossed
I am using the HL Bulldog track. It was what I had on hand at the time of my build, so I used it. It is the same track as is on the LVTP-7 I built earlier. I have modified 6 links so far. It is rather involved, but should be well worth it in the end. Lots of time involved though. I am looking forward to your maiden voyage also. I am confident that your build will turn out fantastic like your others. The M-41 Bulldog track has chevrons on it also, and depending on your test I may just do the same on mine. I only had enough metal track to outfit one side of mine right now. I will continue with my mods to the 24 leftover track links I have until the rest of it gets here. I just may try it without the grousers first just to see what the performance is like. The plastic stuff with grousers gave a very realistic performance until it started breaking. I will probably put them on anyway.
