Your eye for detail shows in your work, you see the setting as it really would be.and you have done a great job bringing that vision to our eye's.Really excellent work, the Tigers are my favorite, the snow cammo is very good in the way it swirls, can't tell where the paint ends and the snow begins. Was that the effect you were trying to create? Clearly you have an excellent grasp of the situation. Well done Jeff. Blake

Hi Blake, thanks for you kind words! The snow camo Tiger simulates the effect that a worn whitewash snow camo. Most of these snow camos were applied with brushes, mops, or similar devices. Some were applied by spray gun, however, this was the exception from the pictures I have seen. I tried to recreate a quickly brushed whitewash by the tank crew that has started to wear.

Hi Blake, it has been awhile. I think I built the first one, the tamiya tiger 1, about 5 or 6 years ago. I took a few years off and have recently become interested in these tanks again.

I DO understand Jeff,I build ships as well. One model 1/96 scale U.S.S.CONSTITUTION Frigate has been on and off since 1995.Just a lot of rigging details,The hull is finished up to gun deck. The only plank on frame kit I have ever worked with.Your tanks are very well done,I'm sure done with a patient hand.Well I have enjoyed looking at your Armor collection, the Jagdpanther with interest as that is my current project. Cheers mate I forgot one question, some guy's use milliput to add weld seam details,I noticed you did not do this.Just an observation,I am debating on that issue. Blake

Hi Blake, Good luck on your Constitution model! That is my favorite sailing ship. Those plank on frame models are way beyond my patience levels!!!
As far as the milliput goes I don't bother, if I was going to add all the PE I would then use the putty, but the Tamiya tanks build into very nice models straight out of the box. Not perfect, by any means, but pretty good, especially as driving R/C models. The only tank I used the putty extensively was on the T-34/85. It turned out good and I was pleased with the results of the putty, but I have not used it since. If you feel the weld seems wil really enhance your model, go ahead and give it a try.

Hello Jeff,I have not tried it before but I am only on my second tank build ever. You answered another question I had intended to ask, weather you built a static displays or R/C that just look great on the display setting. And as for the U.S.S.Constitution it has been a interesting ship to me forever.I have photos of the ship setting sail on her 200th Birthday. The ship should be an example of why we fight, she was built to stop piracy by the Muslim kingdom of Libya. So what is you next project? Sax
