Jimster. Thank you for the links. They have just confused me more, but then I only have a small and old brain to start with, so that doesn’t take much. Whisky is also not a good companion when trying to absorb material.

I understand. Cheap American whiskey helped me tremendously.

Thank you. My work is insignificant compared to Mr Bix, and others.

Managed to get some paint on over the last week, and a start on weathering. Tried to do some post shading which has worked in some parts but not happy with other bits of it. Started with red oxide and used salt and masking fluid to represent wear and paint chips in the top coat. Happy with the rust effects on the exhaust, but I am not sure if it need to be a bit more orange near the top?

Unsure if I should use a bit more orange where there would be more heat?

I still need to do some touching up, and paint the shell impacts, then to continue with weathering using pin washes.

Then I went down to the see front as one of the Astute class submarine was coming in, and unexpectedly one was leaving. Unfortunately I was unable to photograph them together.

Then from a different century, a sail training vessel.

Judging by the length of that sub, I'd say you snapped a Vanguard rather than an Astute ;)

Good progress on the Tiger - careful on the rust front, they wouldn’t have rusted too quickly. The exhausts would have gone a funny colour though.

Love the photos of the submarine and sailing ship!
