Yeah, those hatches...
I tried to make all three of mine work. Result?, one out of three. Great job!

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
Thanks for the good words guys, glad you are enjoying it. I managed to get the mantlet done and it wasn't as complex as I feared so happy days
It's designed to just clip onto the gun mount.

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
I'm trying to figure out what the gap is under the floor of the cockpit to the the floor of the lower hull as I need to put a base in the gun cockpit otherwise it will look awful.
It looks like half the height of the lower hull is used for under cockpit storage. Has anyone got up close and personal with the beast or have a model that can be used to verify this?

I'd suggest putting in a fake ammo rack or 2

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
From some of the photos on the walkarounds there were ammo lockers under the floor of the cockpi. I will be doing ammo racks on the rear, sides and the above track recesses anyway.

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
Printing done and there are the barrel, mantlet, and gun breach, PHEW what a mission.
There's still some fine tuning of the design on the mantlet and turret but everything is now working and the barrel can elevate and depress.
I've also started on the base for the cockpit
Lots still to do.

Looking great . I think a bit (more) scale than I ever came up with.
Nice job! Keep up the great work.

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
Thanks all for following along and the good words. One thing I just noticed is after putting the cockpit floor in their should be space to fit a thin LIPO battery under the floor, so don't do as I did and glue the battery hatch shut! I did manage to unglue it so no harm done. Given the small amount of space in the rear of the tank for the electronics then I figure I will need all the spare space I can squeeze in.

Re: M10 Achilles Scratchbuild 3d Print
Printed the removable floor of the cockpit and put in the front and back of the cockpit for the upper hull.
I found a couple of movable crew members and got them to try out the cockpit for size
They seemed pretty happy with it.
