Got sidetracked again, lol.

Bought a German guy to stick on the fuel dump, went from the kit to complete in 24 hours, looks a bit better than the Bundeswehr one. Need to change the sign though.

Finally got the barrel elevation unit shoe horned in, so that is the turret internals completed. Just needs a barrel flash led now and I can nail it altogether and know that it is all done. If you are wondering why there is a bead of milliput around the seam, I needed to make it a flush fit, and the easiest way to do that was to put milliput around there, cover it with cling film, and then screw it together. When it was dry I just peeled off the cling film and the join was perfect.

From the outside you don't realise how little room there is on the inside. Can't wait to see the finished thing.

The elevation unit 'just' fits in there. I was lucky in that respect, I hadn't thought about that when I was printing the parts. It's on a screw mount so I can pull it back out if I need to. The recoil is as minimalist as I could design it. The elevation/depression is restricted, so I shaved down the white helix in the elevation motor unit to reduce the barrel depression. It's been a bit of a project in itself, and until I hook it all up I won't know if it works, it should...but theory and practice can be two totally different things. :shh:

Wish I had the patience to do a whole set of Chieftain tracks..... :eh:

Still working on it when time allows, not a huge amount to do now. I am wondering whether to sell it though, the challenge was to see if it could be done, which it can, but I have so many other things that I want to do.... :{

W.W,
It's a professional looking tank. Looks better than one made from a resin kit would. You should paint and weather and run it. It's sort of unique! ;o)

Thanks bud, I could plug in electrics and run it now, only needs the turret rotation motor attached, but there are still details to be added, not much at all it's almost 'there' now.

I have been busy doing battlefield scenics, and can see most of my time going on that, which limits time to get this one finally completed. There are also other projects that I would like to take a stab at, but daren't start other things and end up getting nothing finished. :|

First shake down test, before I add any more detail. Using an RX18 with a home made ariel, so not the easiest thing to control. It all works, kind of, and needs some fine tuning.

W.W.,
It's rocking and rolling along, W.W. You are significantly advanced to where you can see it being complete. Great work!
