Actually the New King Tiger are much easier to disassemble than the Tiger, the tracks seem to have better pins yet easy to remove. Internally the support and stand off moulds are better making for a stronger hull.

Rear idler are junk, and should be replaced. Details, not like the Tiger the Hull details are very good, but the same issue of no lower hull hatches work and the turret hatches are ok but none of the finer details are present. They did listen to us on the King Tiger on one issue,"NO MOULDED TOOLS" only on the back plate do you find moulded equipment.
This is so much better, allows you to detail the Hull equipment and allows painting the lower hull much easier, the Germans would not of painted over their Hand tools, and I don't think they would of painted the cables.

But the hull once painted looks great, then adding the individual Hull equipment bring a level of detailing absent on the Tiger.

Now,if I am fortunate I will have the decals applied and be finishing this KT's Paintwork and start reassembly.

Why would the Tank crews do that? It would seem to make the tools difficult to grip, The cables as well would retain dirt and debris because of the paint. I just can't agree.

Perhaps this is a subject for debate? What practical reason could there be for that action?

Hi cant say I have ever seen tow cables or tools painted over ? The cables look bare metal and tools always have wooden or plane metal handles .
