Re: Vendors Blacklist
Whats hacking me off with Vendors?
Impact from Singapore. On ebay they offer quite a lot of stuff I want. I would place quite large orders- However on their Ebay adverts they say they will not ship to the Uk even though they quote a price for shipping
Just one example late model King Tiger Tracks £89:99 plus £22 P and P from Singapore
The only place I have found I can get them in the UK charges £149.99 plus an unknown amount of P and P.
I am forced to wonder why Impact won’t send to the UKbut will ship almost everwhere else.
Is it because they have such bad time with English Postal services or English Modellers paying?
Could it be some other reason that is costing us all money?
I wonder if Impact know how much money they are losing because of the price charged in the UK?
Needless to say I will not be buying them from the UK distributor. I am lucky enough to have friends all over the Western World some of whom travel to the UK very regularly.
I might even order a few of the more popular bits and sell them at cost on this forum

Re: Vendors Blacklist
i am guesing that impact have ' deals ' with uk sellers and part of the deal is thay will not supply several european countrys
like you i have mates round the world and often get items much much cheaper that advertised here in europe
its a pain .... but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet pay the difference and get small items here
good example is the maltoro strumtiger .. i got it shipped form canada to the usa and then shipped here .. all for £62....

Re: Vendors Blacklist
As the UK distributor for IMPACT, I assume nibelungenwerk is referring to Welsh Dragon Models. I can well understand his frustration that US prices are not available in the UK, although it is worth pointing out that, if they were, UK purchasers would still have to pay import taxes on top of the advertized prices. IMPACT no longer has any US distributors so they have started selling directly to the US public on ebay, to 'protect' their UK distributor they specify that they will not sell to the UK.nibelungenwerk wrote: Whats hacking me off with Vendors?

I can assure members that WDM is not charging 'rip off' prices. Our prices are governed by what IMPACT charge us, on top of their prices we have to pay freight, import taxes and bank charges. The King Tiger Late tracks cost us more than £89.99 after tax.
I have been concerned that many of the products IMPACT sell on ebay are less than what they cost us (after freight etc), some prices are even lower than IMPACT's listed trade prices. I can understand IMPACT trying to stimulate sales in this current economic climate but they will not reduce their trade prices to WDM to enable us to pass on the benefit to UK customers. That said, the Singapore dollar is falling in value against the £ and we have made some modest price reductions, forum members also get the benefit of their forum discount.
I hope this goes some way to clarify the position, needless to say I am very frustrated about it all!
(Incidently, as regards our postage costs, they are based on weight and the charges are set out under 'terms and conditions')

Re: Vendors Blacklist
One more point on this, and in defence of IMPACT this time, I can't see that the particular item referred to (KT Late tracks) has ever been sold by IMPACT on ebay, but I can understand the general frustration about this policy.

Re: Vendors Blacklist
Still no package from Tankzone, and surprise, surprise, no reply to my emails. At this point I have no choice but to wait it out and hope I get my parts.
I will never order anything from them again, even if there the only vendor selling the item. If I dont hear anything back from them, or receive my parts soon, I think I will be contacting Trading Standards. I think many of us who've had bad service from them should, it might kick him into sorting his business out.
The thing I dont understand is, the tanking community isn't huge and we all talk to each other, so bad service will spread round quickly. There's no better advertising than word of mouth, and in this economy your level of service is what seperates you from your competitors.
Now i've got my little rant out, I would seriously like to propose a boycott of Tankzone until he's willing to put a decent service to his business and label items stock level correctly.
Cheers,
Rik

Re: Vendors Blacklist
Rob, you'd think so, but the guy just doesn't seem to care how many people he annoys. I hope enough people talk to him with their wallets. If we all stop giving this guy money, thats the only way he'll listen.
I've emailed him again, stating this was my second email about my items. Whats the betting I never get a reply?
Cheers,
Rik

This reminds me of a few years back when I wanted some Kenny Kong tracks for my Tigers the English supplier said £150 for me that would have been £450 for 3x sets so I started e-mailing suppliers none would sell to England as Kenny had an understanding with his retail outlet in the end I contacted Stella models who at the time didn't deal with Kenny but he was prepared to deal with me following day as promised he came back with a price so in went the order for 7 sets of tracks 5 battle systems and a Futaba radio 1 week latter they were delivered with NO IMPORT DUTY I have made well over 50 transactions with HK, Singapore and China and never been charged import duty I have also done a similar amount with the US and only been charged on 2 occasions I also know of dozens of other people who have shared the same experience, hears the golden part the tracks came to £75 per set posted from HK as opposed to £150 from England and the best part is the supplier in England has the tracks sent straight from HK so he takes £75 for an e-mail and they are not the only company doing this, one thing I learned in business "If you don't like the price your supplier is charging you, find a cheeper supplier".
Bob, just e-mail me the parts you want from Impact and on my next visit to England I will drop them in on the way past.
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

Re: Vendors Blacklist
It is strange Impact won't post to UK.
I just sold a pair of sherman gearcases to Impact so they are quite happy to buy from ebay UK.
As to axels,I have purchased parts twice from them with no problems, yet.
However looking at ebay now it's great to see so many fantstic parts now available in the UK.
Big change from when I first aquired my sherman a couple of years back.
