Yup...sometimes a Strategic retreat is good....mostly because your opponents have already revealed themselves...so the element of surprise is gone...skurry down a narrow path...they have to follow in single file...then you turn pick them off one by one :haha: :haha:

Anyone know where to get metal (working) KV exhaust units? The smoke comes out of a hole at the back.....

Asiatam makes them...they aren't that great...gave mine to Painless...not sure what he did with them as his Taigen came with metal units....What I did is hollow out the Heng Longs...they are pretty good ...one piece ...so no chance of smoke leaking out...tricky installation...the pictures of my mod to solve the issue is gone I think...had it on the build thread...most or all of the photos are gone because of a photobucket glitch

Cheers. Did find these - are they the ones you tried?

Tried fitting the upper hull last night. Is there a trick to getting the latch mechanism to line up? I can push the "tooth" into the hole through the turret hole, but that won't work when I fit the turret! Seems to be out of alignment. Pretty sure it's on the right way round as if it was the other way the latch couldn't disengage.

Yes...those are two piece...has a metal obstruction in the middle of it....I found hollowing out the stock plastic versions a better solution than switching to metal

Well I started by wanting to swap just the turret. Then had hull damage so bought a metal hull to replace that. Then realised the turret wiring was soldered into the plugs on the upper hull. Whilst looking for the plugs etc to do the rewire I found someone selling 2.4GHz 3rd gen HL KV-1s for £120..... Figured it was easier to buy another one. Have used the upper off the new one on the metal hull, with the KV-2 turret I bought with the original hull. The bits make up a complete IR KV-1 plus a spare hull & tracks: so need Juckenburger JS-3 & SU-152 kits now to use up the bits..... Someone did warn me it was an expensive hobby! :P

Short answer, kind of yes..... :D
