Got em on my tanks really help stop hull flexing by spreading the load from the floor to the sides. Also the fact that the front is metal helps make things stronger.

Nope. The gearboxes have that LONG drive axle that connects to the drive sprocket, that axle being so long and so lop sided tends to try to twist the gearbox by the drive sprocket axle basicly being a lever. That bearing mounted on the outside of the hull stops the drive axle from moving at all giving the axle MUCH more support. By doing that it keeps the tracks in line and helps stop tracks from being thrown. It also stops the tanks floor from flexing which again keeps the tracks in line. I don't think its overkill it just gives the drive axle the support it badly needs due to the basic design of the gearboxes.

Any updates on this? Looks like a nice build coming along.

BTW...where did you get the metal hinges for the engine hatch? and the metal mud flaps and air filter cover?
