Hey canned looked at the thread and noticed you used pretty much exclusively paints, and now you are reluctant to try again.

Can i suggest you try either tamiya or vallejo weathering powders, they come in sets So buy the desert one. You can apply either dry or onto a dampened tank or you can mix with water and airbrush onto the tank. If you are not happy with the finish simply rinse and try again.

Once happy, seal with a coat or two matt varnish then a final coat of satin.

I use the vallejo one as they're better value for money. I use them on all my wargaming vehicles and my 1:35 military models. They're not expensive and last forever

got some humbrol had another go and made another mess so no more for me just managed to re spray it, but its looking thick, extra armour ?
