Parts glued back on and a fresh coat of paint added. Mig dark wash and AK streaking grime.

Long time since I have posted here now.One side is done.

So then this weekend I started on the other side. Hope you like photo's.

Removed all the plastic (but I used the stock hangers and holders as on the other side)
Made the side fenders more 'beaten up' (will have to piant them again)
Made shell damage
And made my first weld lines .Time consuming ,but fun.
First time on weld lines. Now I have to do the other side again

Looking great so far!! I'm not a german fan much, but somehow the KT always drawn my attention, the sheer size and design of this beast is fantastic.
One small tip maybe: you might consider to place a thin line on some places between your chippings and your base-color, just a tadd lighter then your base color. This way you will simulate the lighter layer of chipped paint in between the darker, weathered base color and the underlaying primer surface. You'll see that it will give an "3-D" looking chip!!
Give it a try on an older model before going nuts on this beauty!!

On the chipping I did a little mistake, on both sides. I did not seal the hull red(prim colour) before I added AK worn effeck fluid. So after I had got the base colour on( xf59-60), and started working with tap water and a stiff brush I schratched both the hull red and the tamiya primer under that (white) . So I'm thinking about going back over some places to fix it up. Allready started to sponge chipp in some places and will try the method Hetzer has done on his Tiger and JT.

After reading hetzer's tread I might just scrap the whole tank and start over

Also I think the AK Worne stuff is more suited for 1/35-1/48 kit's. Ore else I need to practise more

I agree on the AK stuff, they work brilliant on the small scales, but might be too thin for the bigger scales. I use oil paints a lot for chipping and weathering. It takes a long time to dry, so that's a bit of a downfall, but on the other hand it gives you a longer time to correct and control your chipping.....

I have a box full og mig ore abteil oil ore whatever the name was I will have a go at it soon. (and yeas it dries slowly)

So I think I'm saying it's comming together. Need to practise more on the '3d' effect, adding oil part to the chips. I tried, blended some but left it while I think I had it.
