The build goal
now is to add Tamiya KV-1 DMD Units, main gun recoil & elevation, barrel flash, mantlet flashing machine gun, a TBU with the emitter housed in the mantlet, road wheel bearings and to brace the hull plus adding hull improvements to a second Tamiya Leopard 1 A4 Static kit.
We commissioned Daryl Turner for custom designed parts and relying on his design advice and his advance machining and fabrication capabilities the photos start to show what he has come up with.
The build is at the point were it is just about ready for me to tear down the hull and start the
detail parts build, primer and paint steps. Progress has been slow, but kinda steady over the last few months and more progress is anticipated during the fall.
One interesting feature is that the top deck raises for battery changes like a good old NHRA Funny Car.

Chassis is running now, on to the deck assembly. Undecided as whether to run Impact Leo 1 A4 tracks.

FYI:
Leopard & Flakpanzer DIY road wheel bearing tip:
1. Bearing Size, 4 x 8 unflanged.
2. Each road wheel is machined with a shoulder in the bearing bore to allow fit.
3. The axle is just an M4 socket head.
4. No crush sleeve or spacer is required.
5. Each suspension arm is drilled and threaded to receive the M4 socket head.
