Rob that is the reason I have not used these axles,I tapped my control arms to 6/32 which is the standard equal to M3,and like you I was able to screw the axles into the control arm and cut off the extra thread that protruded through the control arm.In a year of running I have had no problems with my Tigers wheels,or axles.And I should note that my tanks weight is between 22 and 24lbs.and the control arms support this weight without problems.The Asiatam axle design is ok but the threaded method seems to be stronger or at least as strong. Hello Nigel,I must of been writing my reply at the same time as you.I'm sure you guy's will be able to create axles that will work in most situations,Dave is sending some parts over to me so I will just send back the Asiatam axles,they are so small I would rather send over the real thing than to make a drawing that might be inaccurate.I am very interested in the new wheels,the Asiatam wheel sets are just to costly,I could buy a tank for the cost of their wheels,I would rather have a tank than to have a 150us set of wheels on my Tiger.That being said I am very grateful for the work Dave has put into getting new products,and everyone else who has a part in this products development.I will also show my support in purchasing a set of wheels for my Jagdpanther when Dave has them,cheers for now Blake

see what your saying blake only way maybe to go to m4 but there might not be enough meat in there to drill and tap

AsiaTam used to make a set of early/mid road wheels in metal, too; but, I don't see them on AsiaTam's website.

Anyone have any experience with those?

It would be interesting to hear a comparison of the two, especially in conjunction with the AsiaTam metal hull.

Rob,your right about the m4 being to much and leaving to little metal to support the axles and wheels,but m3 or 6/32 seems to work and appears to be strong enough.Too bad they can't just make the control arms a little thicker and wider then make them threaded from the factory,but of course this adds to production cost and would reqiure an additional process.The Asiatam wheels are still listed on some vendors sites,their are two different early/mid sets and then the late road wheels set,sorry I can't post a link or picture.I am still using a borrowed computer and don't have the access to my stored data on my hard drive,hopefully I can purchase a new computer next week and load my backup infomation.I have looked into several wheels sets but all reqiure to much money and unsure of the axle type reqiured.If this mato set works out I beleive they will sell very well as they are some much less expensive compared to the Asiatam wheel sets.
