I asked Coolbank on their latest YouTube video if that is the model being released by Tongde and the response was: "Different brands naturally have different designs, and even the details and prices can vary significantly.

"
It sounds to me like Coolbank is releasing their own model.

Is the Matilda wide enough for the standard Tongde motor setup?
TongDe uses a different gearbox made to fit smaller or problematical tanks. It's used in their M24 Chaffee, M109 Paladin and the M113 APC's. Their most significant change is the position of a gear protruding out of the gear case, which allows the use in tanks with slim noses, or rears. My speculation is their M3 Bradley ended up being over-scale because they used the larger "standard" boxes, which caused some negative reactions.

The Tongde and Coolbank Matildas will differ mechanically. This is a guess I'm basing on my ownership of Coollbank's M5 Stuart, M8 Scott and Crusader Mk III, and Tongde's M-60, M3 Bradley, Churchill, M24 Chaffee, LeClerc and M113. (Don't tell my wife.)
Coolbank uses a "dual current" gearbox - one motor for movement, one for steering. Tongde uses the more common two movement motor setup. Coolbank's tanks are all plastic versions - wheels & tracks. No metal versions. Tongde offers versions with plastic and metal running gear. Coolbank's tanks are typically less expensive than Tongde's.

That's why I'll choose the Tongde, even if the Coolbank has slightly better detailing. Besides, I've had bad experiences with the Crusader (the wheels come loose while driving).

That's a cryptic post. Do you care to elaborate?

First quick unboxing. Many of the details are separate, so they can be improved before assembly.

Did he get air over that jump! Slow speed control looks decent.
I'm not sure what a Matilda should sound like, but that tank sounds pretty good. No mosfet whine and decent volume. Looks like a very promising release!
Dear Santa, pre-order please...

And it does sound pretty Matilda-esque after listening to the Bovington one do some runs around their track.
