The paintwork has a long way to go yet, but it is starting to look a little better...and I must remember to screw the deck down properly before taking any more pictures......

Could also clean the paint off the LEDs... I've been wanting to get a board with proper engine sounds also, but I don't run this tank very much. In fact, I just ran it on our battlefield for the first time in probably 2 years this past weekend. I realize that I need to upgrade it to servo recoil, servo elevation, add the new Merkava style fast rotation motor, and add some red motors if they fit. I've just had so many projects that I haven't wanted to tear mine apart. Mine actually came with a different transmitter and I'm guessing a different electronics package. Mine has a Haya branded electronics that look like HL version 6 boards. I think yours probably came with the TK26?

Your transmitter looks a little less "toy" like than the one that I had delivered with my Chieftain Derek - but it still shares the twin "rabbits ears"!

I ran my Chieftain at the club last night and it worked well enough, but it doe's not like my LiPo batteries very much as it gave VERY short run times with them.

Surprisingly the LED lights worked quite well - even though HAYA sprayed them over ......but I will scrape the over-spray off.

The steering is not very good apart from when at a very low speed.

The function buttons are a bit bland looking on my tx, so I have aded some little colour spots to them to help me find the basic functions a little easier.

Green spot = START.

Red spot = STOP.

Blue spot = ranging gun.

Yellow spot = machine gun.

Note the covered-over screen area - makes the unit look like it has been down-graded.

I also took a little "crib sheet" with me so I could learn the different sequences needed to switch-on the search light, commanders light, and front lights etc...and there are a lot more things for me to test yet.

I will take a picture of the inside of my tank to compare with what is inside yours - maybe they both have different installations?

I made this crib sheet as the original printed sheet that came with the tank was faded and not easy to read. With this I was able to try and test all the functions.

Does anyone else use the CAN SHUG CK-TK26 unit or know anything about it ?

My Chieftain has the same innards (technical term) and transmitter: I would like to know more, too.

Three cheers for Andrew Haya. I have the same transmitter that zooma shows above. A crib sheet was enclosed with my Chieftain, which I got in mid-2023. As zooma's crib sheet shows, to access the "Functions" settings, one is to press the left top button six times. I tried all the functions right out-of-the box, and they all worked. In fact, a voice recording alerts one to the successful access. But when I tried to access the "Functions" settings the second time, it could not do so. I tried pressing slowly, deliberately, quickly, medium speed...no luck. I waited a day and tried again... no luck. So I contacted Andrew Haya. He emailed back promptly, and the problem was readily solved. I need to press that right top function button very fast--lickety split--and then it works fine.

Hopefully somebody else will know something about this board and maybe let us know if it is possible to bind it to a different transmitter - FlySky or Radio Link would be nice!

The little black "toy" transmitter that comes with the HAYA Chieftain is a very capable little unit - but I would prefer to hold a more normal "hobby grade" sized tx in the hand if I could get one to talk to the CS-TK26 board, and I would especially like it if were possible to bind it to work with my FlySky FS-16, HAYA ( that has just arrived with my new Centurion!) or my Radio Link AT9S.

Both of the above mentioned tx "feel" much nicer in the hand IMHO, and if I could get either to work with the CS-TK26 board I would probably settle for the choice of 7 (non-genuine) sound choices for quite some time.........until I could find a suitable alternative board that could produce the authentic Leyland multi-fuel engine sound that will work with any of the mentioned transmitters.

In fact, in general it would be convenient and a cost saving were we able to use one transmitter and, perhaps, a receiver in each AFV, regardless of MFU. I doubt, however, that such standardization of MFUs is even being considered.
