There are a bunch of different ways to add recoil to the barrel. Some retain the BB function, but since you are adding smoke I would assume you aren't keeping that function. Adding a barrel recoil usually requires a good bit of cutting and fitting as the barrel is glued to the mantlet in most cases. Most of us use a servo recoil, but without a motor driver to servo converter or a control board with a servo output like a 7.1 or 6.1 (or aftermarket board) it is not really possible.

Option for upgrading 6.0/7.0 to servo recoil + smoke + flash run via arduino:

I upgraded many tanks in the past to smoke+recoil at the expense of BB shooting. Happy to guide you but could you let me know which tank you're planning to upgrade and whether you have access to 3d printer?

All right,
My suggestion is to buy the following:
- Flash/smoke is straight forward. Get the unit, there are many places you can buy it from, not sure where you are located. Aliexpress is cheap option.
- buy 6.1 or 7.1 board (again you can get it from Aliexpress)
- 9g servo
- brass tube to extend the barrel
- you will need some other bits like some sort of glue, servo linkage or thick wire, etc.
All will cost you about £120.
That board plus smoke/flash unit will solve most of the problems and you will only need to modify BB unit and the barrel so it can freely move, then glue or attach in some way recoil servo to the BB unit, connect to the barrel.
The problem you have is recoil. No easy way with 7.0.
If you don't want to go for 7.1 then you can check the link I posted earlier. You will need to program your arduino and buy all the components. No need to buy the smoke/flash unit, buy only a smoker (cheap Heng Long works absolutely fine). If you're not familiar with programming at least at basic level, don't have any minimal experience with electronics, don't know how to soldering etc., then honestly best to go for 7.1.
You would need here:
- arduino nano
- motor driver
- HL smoker
- 9g servo
- 1x LED (amber, red or white - whichever you prefer)
- relay
- some cables
- brass tube to extend the barrel
Assuming you have all the tools this would cost you about £40.
Option three I can think of:
- Flash/smoke unit
- brass tube to extend the barrel
- 6V solenoid electromagnet (I would go for 10mm retraction)
I've never used those for big barrels but successfully implemented with smaller guns. They are cheap, you would need 6V one. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. The only downside is the movement would be rapid (back and forward within about 0.5-1s). Electromagnet would be connected to the BB port. You would need to modify BB unit to make some space for that electromagnet, then connect it with e.g. some thick wire to the barrel.
The cost of all would be about £25
