OK guys !
After 3 weeks of hard work on the track guards and with the help of the guys that do the resoration of the Churchill MK IV Minotaur, I've been able to get them as close as possible. (I did one small mistake, adding a detail that was not there, I let you spot it :D).

So after 3 failed prints (about 20 hours of printing lost), after having found the problem (that was the FEP for those who are into 3D printing), I have been able to print them without too much distortion.

The front section is made of 0.5mm styrene (actually there are sandwitched ribbed like on the original), and I can tell you that is super strong, that's the good point of reproducing how the originals were made.

I've added a lot more nuts, bolts and rivets here and there ! But I still have to add more (forgot them on the brackets that were printed with the track guards :{ ). I have a lot more details to add : small hooks for the front hatch, small hooks on the side air filters, handles on the hatches and so on...

I could not help myself, I add to spray a coat of primer on it ! Mainly to show problems. 3D printed parts looks not so bad (except the idler and sprocket but they will be hidden by the tracks mostly), maybe a light sanding and it will be ok for the most part.

Hello guys, I have been working on the gun mantlet. I did my best to recreate it, once again pictures of original being disassembled and restored have been of a great help!

I also made the rear grill for the rear engine air intake. I built the extra plates that go on top of the rear section of the track guards.

I spent a long time designing the tow hook. I had some great pics so I have been able to add lots of details. I made frames on both sides of the tow hook attachment. Inside those frames there are 2 boxes, same boxes can be found on other british tanks, I'm not sure what they are. The original can be opened and Afv club put 2 cylinders in this part of their kit.
While I was working on the back, I noticed the screws I put were not accurate for the Churchill I was replicating. I removed them, drilled pocket holes and put some bolt heads in these.

The white plates on the track guards are not glued yet in these pics.

Thank you Tankme!

Well this is going to be probably the last update before painting!

After a long thought, I decided to add the rear fender. Most of the AVRE had them when they landed.

I added the last details on the rear sides : caps for the oil access located in the sprockets, spare tracks holder, securing bolt wires etc...
