Mr Chef. It is. Hopefully the DIY solution below explains my repair. Before bed last night, a short length of brass rod about 2.5mm diameter, was installed, passing into the axel and swing arm. This was filled with JB weld. All seems secure this morning. I will still leave it until tonight so it has had the full 24 hours to set. Then I will trim the pin down, as the moment it is catching on the suspension. Hopefully this will suffice as I do not run my tanks often or hard.

Wishful thinking perhaps, but as long as the wheel runs on an axle, it wont care if that axle is on the arm or from the outside fastening to the arm

Mr Bix. Thank you for a second solution that I didn’t even think about. If this fails , I may investigate drilling it out and installing a nut and bolt through the whole thing.

I have always wondered about doing a Chally but never taken the plunge.
Following along like those that follow along

Small amount of progress over the weekend. All the main painting now completed. The tank now has an identity. Call sign 32 of A Squadron. The Scots Dragoon Guards. I do not know if I can reproduce the the photograph it is based on, for copyright reasons. Page 149, of the Haynes book on the Challenger 2.Some minor painting and touching up to be completed, and glass fitted in the commander’s coupla. This company used reflective tape on the turret sides, to indicate the tank’s call sign, when viewed through thermal imaging systems. I managed to find some self adhesive reflective tape, to replicate this. As we have liquid sunshine today, and a holiday, I may get it finished, all the electronics connected and all screwed back together, as at the moment it just resting together. Then it will be time to weather it a bit and add some stowage. A lot of the photographs of the tanks in Iraq, show them with a large tarpaulin or camouflage net draped around the front which will have to be replicated. Electronic wise, it has a6.1 board so is simple. It does have gun recoil, working indicators, brake lights, gun smoke and flash. I have removed the battle system (for now) and exhaust smoker because I never think they look realistic.

Mr Chef, my kitchen, my rules, my whisks. I do all the cooking in the house. It’s safer, and tidier than letting the wife loose. Even making toast, the kitchen looks like a war zone after.

I did initially mis-read what you had written, and thought you had written “a strong concentration of whisky at your 3 O’clock”.

For a laugh here are my three tanks with suitable refreshments with them.

Egad! You are serious about protecting your booze. I'd bet pilfer-piercing shells are loaded already.

Start to understand why these are called Challengers. It is really challenging my patience. Took this thing out last light for a run around. Stopped dead after firing up ok. Loose wire on terminal of the battery. I feel like with it. All sorted now.
