I solved all of the problems, the USB programmer that Bangood sells is pants. It has a fake FTID chip on it, and the guys that manufacture the original have changed their drivers so that they won't work with the fake ones. The Bangood cable costs £20, the genuine FTID USB costs less than £5, so I bought one, soldered the wires on to the correct pinouts, and it all works perfectly. I have since reprogrammed sounds multiple times with no problems at all.
