Good Morning, Paul,
I love the lighting effects. Adds another layer of the 'Cool!' factor when seen. ;o) That's why I went to the trouble of wiring up the spot on 'Maxene' and the Notek light on the KV-2. The fun you get from the small amount of work required is so well worth it.

I agree Painless. I am pleased too that with the IBU2 I can adjust the convoy light LEDs to achieve just the right glow from them. Too bright and they just don't look right to my eye. Convoy lights shouldn't be too bright should they? Without this adjustment on the IBU2 I would have had to fiddle about with resistors and the like to get the effect I like.

I would definitely recommend these lights from Heike, once made up the detail is good, and the blue cylindrical version comes with the correct bracket to fit it to the rear of the Panther as well as the fittings for the Tiger which I have used here. Very good little kits.

Thank you for the heads up on Heike's kits. A recommendation from you is as good as gold. You are correct, convoy lights are meant to be seen only by the vehicle in front of or behind the tank equipped with them.

I waited a while on making up the kits as I thought I might use some of the alternatives that are available.

But the more I looked at these the more I noticed of the very nice detail on these. Unfortunately I then had a bit of a family crisis which stopped me model making for a week or so.... and so it took a few weeks for me to get round to making up the kits and put them on the tanks.
Once I started on them it was only 2 hours from start to the finished article on all three of the tanks.

Are those available individually?.... I can't tell you scalawag... I started looking for those lights when I was doing my L70 ... only found one listed on EBAY UK... but man are they expensive....with ship close to $40 US for the Panzer version... reason I said heck with it and made my own

Thanks for showing them though...now I know better what the varieties look like... after making the one I did... the ones for the Tiger looks simple to do... so will probably add them to more of my German tank builds ... as the usual is them not having any of that detail on the rear

Yep these are sold as individual lights. They are made by a small company in Germany so only available from there as far as I know:'( I had to use google translate to communicate with the seller too as I don't think they speak English. They are not the cheapest of things to buy but not really expensive. As you have said before though the cost of shipping is probably the killer for you.
