Looks better Canned! If you seal it it will darken down a bit. don't be afaid to add a LITTLE colour to your varnish like a 5% colour that will help you darken it down and then if you do a very dark dirty brown pin wash and a final flat coat seal it it will look great. But if you aren't that brave it looks not bad the way it is...

It's really ok. Bear in mind that the real IDF Shermans of the 1950s were already second or third hand. They will have had many layers of paint already on them and their finish will have been a very long way from 'showroom standard'. Check out some photos of the real thing and you will see what I mean. Also the IDF never worried too much about keeping their tanks looking smart. They were weapons after all and had to be functional rather than pretty. Add a multitude of stone chips and a heavy coating of Sinai dust and grime and you get a pretty messy looking piece of kit! Try lightening the darker areas a little and then a pin wash. Lots of dry brushing to add wear and tear and chips and scuffs wherever heavy Israeli boots might have stomped and you'll get close to the result you want. Have a little faith Moriarty!

Hey I put three examples on that thread... sassgrunt said there were only eight made...so building one would be like you building a Super Pershing...
Like I said in the other thread.. if you need a mantlet like the one i made... no problemo...I'll make you one if you need it
