At this point, I still have the same question: Wouldnt be cheaper and easier to just buy the entire kit, and then sell the electronics?

Definitelly getting tamiya parts is getting expensiver and harder day by day....

A few years back we drove as far as the road went and trekked across the heath to "Sandy Bay" (Just a few miles South of Cape Wrath),
The roads north of Glasgow were pretty much empty and very nicely surfaced,
It was a couple of days before the Whitsun Holiday,
As we came to the crest the Sun shone and truly enhanced the wonder of the pure white sand and the blue of the sea with the small Loch nestled in the heath,
We shared the beach with a young couple whose beachware appeared to comprise a pair of small swimming trunks,
The sea which in late April early May should have been cold was no such thing. a very welcome import from the USA, (The Gulf Stream),
An enjoyable break enhanced by the drive to and from.
I would be happy to be a Parcelforce driver in that part of the British Isles.
I wonder if the powers that be are trying to persuade potential English visitors that it is not easy to get to and should continue to travel to Blackpool instead

At this point, Rad..it's too late. I've started, so i'll finish (as a famous quiz master intones here on TV in 'Mastermind' ..)

Yes, Adam, I also recall the unfinished Pz IV Eddy had for sale here for around £400. (?) By then I'd already invested in quite a few parts, and liked the idea of hunting more down. After all, if you bought a genuine old tank - and I saw a Cromwell for a modest £250,000 - you'd also be hunting high and low for parts, whilst restoring, or fabricating others. In a way, my approach to the Pz IV is similar...but on a much smaller scale.

All of our local courier van drivers are relaxed and happy wee chappies. They all have pretty smart sound systems in the vans too, to enhance the moving landscape experience. Although when it snows in the mountains.. well, ...on every life a little snow must fall, eh?

No worries, Mac. I've ordered one from the AAF Museum. Given the cost of replacing these things, I'd be very careful where you put these things. If I were you. I lost a specialised curved lock washer, and had a order another whole set (at some expense, to replace it). I couldn't find the like of it anywhere else...

'All the way from America'..was a song by one of my favourite female musicians, Joan Armatrading. It's also the origin of this parcel that finally arrived today I have never paid so much for a delivery before. However, the AAF outlet appears to have a rich seam of Tamiya spares; a sort of Tamiya goldrush location. I got all I needed; but at quite a price.
Even then, customs held the package over, and demanded a 'release fee' (ransom), as well as VAT. Och well.
I did, however, get a small chuckle out of the USPS tracking tool (and it's better than most, I'll say in its defence). It stated that- "a delivery was attempted at...(wait for it)..10.41PM. But failed" Yes, that is PM'.
Most couriers would be in the pub in Inverness at that time, or sleeping it off in their beds, or zombie-ing out to TV, or a box set.
I Imagine, that a delivery man appearing at someone's door in the US at that time, would stand a good chance of looking down the barrel of something really scary ..
Anyway, it turned up this morning.

Have to say I'm impressed by the weight, and appearance, of the Pz IV speaker. It even has a baffle for routing bass sounds, and an attractive metallic top, unlike all the other black plastic Tamiya speakers I've had.
Let's hope it was worth the wait and the expense..
