I can relate to the Jaguar,x12 Engine bay fire, one minute my friends driving down the street, next minute screaming his cars on fire come help.

I'll look that unit seems to be one in the book,I'll be right back after a look.

First unit to receive new King Tigers, attached to the Panzer Lehr Division, these 5 King Tiger were issued on14th March 1944,these King Tiger were never employed in action and were later destroyed to prevent capture? That is all, nothing about when or where destroyed or which number signs were issued to these tanks? I will check another source and get back with you, normally,Black numbers outlined in White or White outlined numbers when white was used, this is the mystery, their was another post about this tank as well. I'll see what I can find.

from what i have seen and read. the numbers just seem to be whitewash on the zim( i hate zim) they got five KT's in july and by september they were all dead, after never firing a shot, all broke down. just saw the photo and thought that i need to do that tank. trying to do it as it would have looked just before the pic was taken. i.e with all the cables and pioneer gear still on. lol. still trying to pluck the courage to do the zim though, if i bugger up i have wreaked a £150 tank. keep me brave sax.lol

Suggestion,I have the same fear. That's why I chickened out on the Henschel King Tiger I used the Tamiya Zim Film, I don't know what to tell you other than you first? Just kidding,Steiner has done Zimmerit on a couple of his most excellent tanks, ask him? He's a great guy with alot of resource site links and experience. I'm sure their are others as well, just thought of Steiner as he posted his fine looking PZIV with the excellent gun mount today, which has Zim on it.

cheers sax, what the hell does funklenk mean? i'll check out steiners post, doing mine with fine surafce filler, not sure how that works out over the states , but it is like like a really fine cellulose putty. the zim looks light, but at 1:16 you would barely be able to to see it, same as welds.

This is my shelf Queen,I purchased this tank built from a forum member, actually got three King Tigers in a package deal between me and Dietrich. His name is Bubbajoe,a Canadian with a high level of skill. You could ask him as well, yet he does not post as often as he once did.
