So the build begins.
Have my Alu and plastic sheet, made the rough shaped lower hull and a battery box for inside the Tank. I am keeping a photo record so I will have a build list to post once I get a bit farther in the build.
Equipment constraints have me making a sandwich Hull and body. Aluminum sheet, .080 plastic sheet and on the upper I will have an aluminum exterior. The industrial epoxy I am using to glue them together has a shear strength of 3500 psi, I figure it will be strong enough and the aluminum and sheet together actually make it quite stiff.
As usual in over my head from the start lol.

Here is the Vampyre system without the infra red light, I am waiting for leds from the LHS, they were out.
This is 2.2cm width, base is 2.5cm, total height is 2.7cm. If I did it right it will come just below eye level of my tank commander.
The lower hull is all epoxied up. When I get the suspension in I'll post the pics I am taking.

Something out of this. Actually I can't say because I don't know. at least I don't have a finished drawing.
I know what I want it too look like and when finished it should be a cross between a Tiger II, Panther, T34.
The whole idea is too build my own Paper Panzer.
The cut aluminum sheet and the wall plug should give you an idea how big the Tank will be.

mustclime this will be a rear drive, I plan on putting a set of 3 to 1 brass gears in the tank. As for the suspension I am looking at the post you put up earlier " The wheels were mounted on geared swing arms suspended against springs made of simple Belleville washers held in tubes, with a hydraulic shock absorber down the centre of each. The suspension unit was designed by MAN of Augsburg, and was small, due to the high loading it could take, and easy to produce"
I have done some larger drawings of my understanding of this concept. it will help me get my head around this as I am already test building this suspension.

take a look at the parts in this kit of the e75....

http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums ... p?th=44051" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

From what I have been able to gather, the boogies were to be 2 tubes( a tube per arm) filled with these coned washers kile this...)()()()()()(...with a damper down the middle...there would be a swing arm with a geared compression arm that would press down these washers....You might want to pick up one of the 1:35 kits...thats what i did, been messing with the turret.
