Halfords sell a waterproof inline fuse box for few quid and the fuses for it, just incase a maplins isnt near you

Hi Norse, Just to add a little to your fuse idea.....

all the control gear for my boats....and the RC cars that my son builds..... include fuses and fuse holders of the type that you are suggesting would be beneficial.

I have spent 30 years in the telecomms industry and know that fuse protection is ALWAYS used to protect "soft" electronics... quite often the fuses have been in circuit for many years and have never blown. These fuses never blew because the circuitry was built to last... and to a high spec...enuff said eh!

A technical note... you can buy " surge protection" fuses that react quickly to high current drain ( they blow in milliseconds), and fuses that are designed to "Slow blow" so allowing very short higher values of current- such as those used to protect motor circuits. Motors can, and sometimes do take 10 times their rated running current on start up or high load.

So for me, experience and education has proved that fuses are necessary to protect ALL circuitry..... why would anyone wish to invest time... let alone the money aspect.... in their hobby and not protect their investment.  

I put fuses in all circuit feeds......... you dont need any qualifications for common sence.......

Keep up posting your ideas Norse, this site is the richer for them.... now I'll put the soap box back in the shed....

oh well off to the play ground we go any how speaking to someone who nows a little more than me and in my opinion the fuse breaker is more trouble than it's worth in our little tanks as the fuses after the battery and before the board are useless
and the theory of a circuit breaker after the motors and before the board would be a royal pain in the *** popping and killing the drive to
the little tankies everytime you go over anything harder than the carpet and spending more money on board protection when i have run RX13s and 14s and not yet had a problem with cooked boards seems a little pointless to me

now if you techy wizards came up with an equivalent to the DMD well then your talking (bet you couldnt get that for a dollar )

also found out that approx 9 people per year are killed licking PP9s (thanks tony LOL )
how many people live on this planet well you can work out the percentage im off to lick batteries (car batteries coz im ard )



elf and safety note please dont lick batteries you may have an underlying heart condition and may die from the result (no not the battery the heart)

I think this is what he meant dearie

which to me is offensive not that i care too much but offence could be taken so long as we leave the gate out of it  that part never done any harm so the fence will be left to keep the gate company

any way you guys so bored with the other places that you dwell that you have to come on here and try to annoy everyone (oh well gives me something to moan about saves kicking the cat again LOL)
