That one of my fears buying off ebay is getting someone elses cluster f**k and spending more time and effort not to mention money to fix it nice job their! good work so far. Tamiya needs to make some more new armor like a1 abrams

got some torque keys in the post today, recommended to me by 007, ill see at some point if they will take out the allen head screws after i press a soldering iron to them as pete suggested

If all fails, get a hacksaw, cut a slot right across the top of the allen bolts. Heat the bolts with a soldering iron, and then use a wide flat bladed screwdriver to undo them. Once out, repair the plastic with Milliput and put new bolts in.

Use threadlock on the new bolts, the same as the previous owner, and only do them up finger tight plus a nudge, they won't move.

Another option is to Araldite a bolt head onto the top of the allen bolt and then use a mini socket to undo the bolt.

Drilling them out and using a bolt extracter is a last option.

thanks for your ideas mate, i have yet to try the keys that i bought though

problem with the 1st option is the sprocket is metal, so no milliput repairing for me xD (could just by a new one though)

Hi Dont try to drill an allen screw there to hard it will just break your drills or even worse skid off and totaly bugger the sprocket.

Hello Matt,Nice tank but 400 is pretty steep.On the sprocket issue heat is the key with lock tight,I run into this problem with bike engines often,every thing is Allen head and lock tight is always used.The other tool is an easy-out punch set.These are square,and tapered you drill out the head slightly and tap this tool into the hole.the edge of the tool cuts into the metal gripping the bolt head and turning the bolt,it is advisable to lightly tap the easy-out with a small hammer as you turn.If the sprockets are metal you might also try heating them as they expand the bolt may loosen up.And I did not know you worked,man your a busy guy.School,work,forum,life.Its all good,hope you get your new tank sorted out Cheers Blake
