The problem with Tamiya turret rotation rollers, they are on the hull and not under the turret like the more sensible Taigen Tiger.
Unless the turret has a perfectly balanced weight distribution, it is destined to foul up. I know one of the Taigen rollers is centre front to help with the extra barrel weight.

Exactly. I can put up with a lot of Tamiya's eccentric ways but that system is just terrible. Another thing he will need to source is over sized rollers for the turret to sit on as the factory ones aren't big enough and because of the metal barrel's weight will get stuck in spots through the rotation. Why Tamiya just couldn't over the last 20 years have upgraded to use proper ball bearings and a rotation system like HL and Taigen is beyond me
Thank you so much 😊 for your help I re did step 8 with the idler arms than used all my strength to tighten it down and now my idler wheels are quite locked into position freeing my other wheels to move. I can say after some test run it feels quite good but idler still iffy leading to sometimes no so straight line driving where I compensate to make it straight tho. Power drove it too much and grub screw dropped out but no big deal gonna find the lose one and put it back in. Will share a post later on my test run and other stuff. Thank you to you and the other person who reply. Greatly appreciated thank you, feel blessed to know you guys

Great to hear. I know you said for now the Henntec would be stretching the tank budget but when you have invested so much by buying a Tamiya in the first place you want it to run as good as possible. It would be the first upgrade I would do before cosmetic stuff like photo etch grills etc.as it will cause you trouble all the time.

You're welcome Michael.
One word of warning, if things aren't properly aligned while running your tank, it'll cause your tracks to bend slightly sideways, which will shorten the tracks life expectancy.

Yes I do know it ran straight yesterday albeit the road wheel did not spin but now there is a slight veering which I compensate with my control, anyway to adjust it, I believe it is the tracks and idler again but I have tightened both, anyway to adjust it like a trim?

Which radio are you using? If it's an analog 4ch Futaba/Tamiya Attack then you just use the slider trim to adjust it to get it straight.

Good morning,
Personally on mine, I immediately replaced these ugly plastic rollers with bearings, there is a small adaptation to do (easy) but it is worth it, like replacing the freewheel tensioner system, with a " Hentec

I remember, a few years ago, a steel round was sold (Axel? I think) to stick on the back of the turret base, to avoid this problem!! some modelers glued some big nuts....

This is the controller I have, so to adjust it will be the disc thing at the bottom of the left stick, it veers left should I adjust it to the right?
