Also, warning! now you mention it, the Dasmikro works with a maximum of 5V!. If the ESC or the battery that feeds the board has more voltage than that, you will fry it!

I have been in contact with Bangood, and emailed them this video to demonstrate the problem. One board works, the other doesn't. Both on the TRX4 and an HL truck. Either they would both blow, or both would work if the voltage was wrong.

Hopefully they can sort that part out.

The other half of the problem is getting the Benedini to talk to the DasMikro board. It may be next week before I can solve that one.

Humm, that's strange... If banggood refunds you and you don't have to return it, and you don't want to keep it, Id happily take it from you. Maybe I can fix it somehow...

I'll get to see the friend with a genuine Benedini set up soon, so I will be able to check whether there are any sounds stored on the board. The pass through for the esc is ok, the led works, I get the first beep when I short the two contacts. After that I get no beeps at all.

Either its a faulty board and it will never work, or it can be sorted with the Benedini software.

Bangood are going to send me another one, so well done Bangood. Can't say fairer than that.

Managed to get this rogue board hooked up to a pc via a genuine Benedini USB cable today. Well, as I suspected, there were no sounds loaded onto the DasMikro board, on top of which it was set to manual start, not auto start, and no matter what we did there was no chance of synching the throttle start to the board.

So, we loaded Landrover D5 diesel sounds onto it, changed it to autostart, and I have a usable board, plus another one on its way from Bangood that 'should' function properly.

It seems that the USB programming lead is pants, as the Benedini cable hooked up faultlessly, the DasMikro one refused to communicate.

Finally all done and back together. Just need nail varnish for the lights to complete it.

Glad you got it working. As I supposed it was just a matter of rewiring the programmer correctly.
Now you only have to wire lights to that car. Brake light, reverse, headlight, indicator, warning... Everything can be done just with that small piece of art!

Well the replacement board arrived from Bangood, they actually sent me a complete set up, including the USB. Only snag is that like the original, there are no sounds preloaded, it's not on autostart, and the USB simply generates the message 'no response from board' just like the last one.

I have a proper USB board on its way so I am hoping that this will allow me to talk to the board via the Benedini firmware. If not then at least I know that I can hook it up to a friends pc as he has a genuine Benedini USB, which is what I did last time.

At least I have got 3 DasMikro systems for the price of 2?

I might try programming it on an old laptop I have with Vista on it, just in case the USB driver doesn't like Windows 10, and that it is this that is causing the problem.
