Nice :D. Is the transmission plate part of a kit or sold separately? The C hooks look good as well.

Good morning!
The transmission plate is sold separately as a Schumo kit. I got that one from ETO Armor.

Painless

Hello!
Robert of ETO has a line in with the guy who makes the Schumo kits. As far as different kits go, the retailers keep what sells available. I'm sure that differs with each retailer. I am glad this makes a wider range available.

Painless

He doesn't have everything in stock at once I get the impression a run is done and goes up on the site with stuff out of stock being taken off

Morning, Painless
I've not had any dealings with Hobby Boss products personally, but I have to say I'm impressed by the crisp clear lines in the upper hull and Turret. Much as I appreciate the Taigen Tiger metal hull ( I have two), the bonded tools on their upper hull
just have to be sanded off and replaced. Worse still, the Taigen Tiger 1 has a front glacis plate forming a neat rectangle, where the real thing has slight bevels (L and R) on the top leading edge. I note with approval that your Hobby project
has the correct lines   I'm not a rivet counter by nature, but a model (in whatever scale) should look like, and have the same proportions as, the object it represents when scrutinised closely.Your late Tiger I does just that   But why should I be surprised? It's your raison d'ĂȘtre. Congrats to Jack (Terry), of course, for his part in the project.

Painless, that late-Tiger barrel travel lock REALLY looks great! Do the sides pieces hinge, or are they solid? I've seen people make them out of sheet styrene, but always thought that might be too fragile for the long haul.

43rd R&R,
Good afternoon! This tank is a Beauty and when Jackalope passed it along, I sprang for it. I was really happy with the professional job done by him on manufacturers parts melding with the Hobby Boss upper and the Taigen lower. Scratched brass bodywork, Servo recoil and elevation along with a Bow MG set up for servo motion were icing on the cake( along with the excellent paint ). I'm currently putting my stamp on it, adding tools and other detailing. MaxMekker and I have our heads together to drop Clark electronics into it and bring it back to life. More to come.
regards,
Painless

Mike!
Good to hear from you again! The Travel Lock is a one piece casting. It has good detail and with a little work can be installed as a two piece unit like the original. I don't think it can be made to swivel, you would have to remove too much material to free up the legs at the knees on it. I am currently looking for scale chain to dress it up a little but not having any luck. Wecohe and Dragon offerings are long gone and 1/12 scale motorcycle chain is going to be too large I believe. My best bet might be finding a HL Panther travel lock and removing the plastic chain from it to use on this one. Take care, my Friend.

Painless

Mr Painless An-Bri sells one with the chain on it ( I think that's where I found it) . I purchased from him for one of my earlier Tiger builds. Your idea about the Heng Long/Taigen panther might be your easiest way to make one. Not sure if that part is available seperate or if someone on the forum has one to sell?
