The plastic arms use screws, the metal arms use an axle pin and set screw, 2 different setups that won't work together. If his has axle screws he will need to get the axle pins to work with his new hull.

Jack Hi, I cannot speak for FORGEBEAR but I do know that when I ordered a set of Tiger 1 metal wheels they came with two plastic bags, one bag had the smooth Taigen axles and the other one had the Heng Long threaded axles so perhaps it is standard procedure.

I would like to offer a word of advice. I have found the supplied Grub/Set screws too small and for very little extra cash I bought a pack of M3 x 6mm Grub/Set screws and these are infinitely better,
The only other thing I would like to add is that whichever screws you use, do make sure the screw travels the full length of its threaded run, as I found that some of them will not move far enough to contact the axle so it is not locked in place,
The advantage of the longer screw is you can run it all the way into the area where the axle goes and still have half of it in its run so you can see all is well

shaun
Of course if you have a "TAP & DIE SET" you should run an M3 Tap down the thread to make sure the thread is clear.

That's why I've been asking him what all he is doing cause if he's reusing the road wheels he already has from his H/L Tiger he'll need the axles.
I've never had any problems with any of the 3 Taigen hulls I have and thier set screws they all work perfectly.

Has anyone a pick of a build that shows the engine and transmission cover upgrade. I have bought the metal late tiger 1 upgrade from forgebear, but I can't see where the 2 banana shaped things go! Sos

Hey you need to read the posts since your last one!
But the transmission cover parts go on the new lower that you ordered. The 3rd part goes on the engine deck where the air cleaner part on the engine hatch is.

Ok you see in the pic I posted where the front is, you see the "transmission" covers where the drive sprockets would be attached correct? See where the spare track is? On either side of that track towards the bottom as the hull is as it goes under the tank on the opposite side of the verticle silver part where the tow hooks are from the "transmission" covers are.
In fact if you look at the last pic you posted of your Tiger after you painted it you can se where those 2 parts go peaking out from under the front of the tank.
I hope this helps, I wish I could draw you a couple arrows where they go but I'm not that computer savvy, sorry.

I'm not using my other tiger early version as a diner, I intend to buy target late Road wheels to go with my new target metal assisted hull. The old tiger is staying intact I've only used an old second hand h/l upper hull because I knew I was going to upgrading it.

Well then if you're building a new one from scratch then you'll be fine. Just didn't want you to be disappointed like I was when I got my 1st Taigen hull cause no one had clued me on that the arms were different and therefore I needed the different axles. I ordered them straight away but it was another 2 weeks waiting for them before I could do anything with my Tiger.
Glad you see where they go! Hope I was able to help you.
