I'll take a swing at it this weekend, I'm hoping to not have to butcher the turret too badly.
At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to hook a couple of servo's up to move the gun barrel on my SturmPanzer - its taking me longer than I thought...

I won't be home until August (I always come home for the beer festival week + a couple of days either side), unless they make me redundant before then...

Hi Mart ,
I like your SturmPanzer nice work . The underside I just renforced with thin plasic sheet . There was more work on the turret bottom than I originaly expected . The upper body does look a mess when you cut it . Think I could of done it a bit better but it worked out ok . Any help just ask mate . I see my dad goes to that . I live 5 mins away from the Embankment . Im sure your job will be ok .

Hi Mart,
Ive finished my turret protection ring now . I have used the bolt on method 7 holes but 5 bolts per section ( Thanks Steiner) . I drilled the holes and made the best I could regarding the bolt heads as the smalest I had here was 12 ba to big . But there so small by the time you have primed the tank and sprayed it they will look fine , I hope ! I will stick some pictures on here later . If you look at Steiners excelent post regarding the turret protection ring he has some picts showing were the bolts went and the ones you leave out . And a picture of some original rings showing the bolt holes.I hope your Tigers ok I have posted my method including some pictures.

Hi Mart hope your well. Ive had a bash at the turret ring and acording to Steiners link they were bolted so thats what Ive tryed . Also his pictures of original rings seem to show one side is sloped which I have seen before anyway and also added . Ive got to sort the turret out next and the tow cable mounts but as Im out of work I cant realy affor them yet . I was going to try and make some but I think its better to buy them .

Hi Andy,
Still staring at the sPzIV - its sitting there mocking me >:( . I think I need bigger servo's to get the travel I need...
The ring looks good, do you think I need to move the turret to make them work tho? I took a look at that and decided that would probably be more hassle than I needed...

Hi Mart,
You will have to centerlise the turret because it doesent spin in a circule it spins of centre. So you couldnt put a ring around it . But the chopping of the body was on a scale 1 to 10 I would put it 3 at the most the turret part was more tricky but looking at your work Im sure you can do it .I have a PzIII / Stug mocking me so I know how it feels . I started this ages ago before HL bourght the Stug out . But Im making mine a Stug III Ausf G well when I get back to it . Ive just moved some bits on the rear deck of my Tiger now . Thanks for the comments . The reason why I asked about the ET and Posh was that there was an articule in there Emailed in from someone in Detroit ? looking forward to meeting you.
All the best Andy
