Re: Sherman converting to Firefly
Hi Chris Enjoyed just playing about in the shed and kitchen worktop(boss doing her nut but it was to cold to spend long in the shed ) on sunday, trying differant things. Getting the welds to look right was pretty easy just run a little superglue along the edge where you want a weld and sprinkle baking powder then rub it down the seam you end up with a pretty good weld and sticky fingers but what the hell it works and is faster than making little rolls of miliput and using a screwdriver to make little ripples. The next thing as to get a rough finish because the side of a tamiya is so smooth would put a babys bum in second place ,so a light coat of primer and when it was still wet again sprinkle baking powder then another light coat of primer ,this does give a little bit to much but it does flaten down to give a good effect better than the babys bum.Tommorrows job is trying to make small bolt heads have an idea but will have to test it and let you know if it works .

Hi Guys Been slow going this week alot on but have done a little more to the turret fitted drive ring for heng long (can still remove the turret the same way as Tamiya )traverse motor done the mod to allow 360 degrees of turn ,Finished of the radio box and fitted the rear box ,you will notice a hole inside rear box this hole goes all the way though the boxes its for the sensors 3 of them for the battle unit the forth will be facing forward but havnt decided where yet hoping for some inspiration .Cut the hatches off and leveled them ready to rebuild them .
regards pete
P.S. Does anyone know where I can get a Stug recoil unit and elevation motor tried every where the only place Ive found is RCcommand ,if I cant find one may have to rob my Stug for them and replace later .
