Nice idea with the gear covers

Hi lert your jagdpanther is coming along great, the jagdpanther is a fave of mine i have 2 ,i have just redone a refit of 1 which was in same hl cammo but i repainted it in desert sand ( jagdpanther refit ). looking forward to seeing the finish of your jag.

I went with green / brown heavy because it looks better imo than a 'yellow tank with colored splotches'. Might've gone a little overboard on the left side, but eh. I like it.

Still a long way to go.

Hi there Lert.

Im new to the Forum and have only just tonight ordered my first HL Jagdpanther. I have gone for same version you have as just didn't have the extra for the pro one. Plus i wanted something to put along side my HL Sherman.
You've done a great job so far and really given me some inspiration.
Can i ask how you removed the road wheels to paint them? Or did you leave them attached sir?

Any help would be greatly received.

JP's wheels held on by a screw, you need a Phillips head screwdriver for them. In the box comes also a little sprue with 'hub caps' for them that you put on, as I have in those pics. If you don't glue them in (they're tight enough not to) you can pry them off again with a knife or a flathead screwdriver whenever you want to.

Be careful though, I don't know how to remove the idlers at the rear, and they interfere a bit with the inside rear road wheels.

Lert, the paint is coming along super nicely. Not too heavy at all. Marky, congratulations on your new Jagdpanther. There should be an access hole in the center of the Idler cap. It's a small phillips head screw that holds the Idler on. You should be able to remove it without messing with the cap. Enjoy those extra cool Jagdpanthers, Gentlemen!

Good tip. I didn't have a screwdriver small enough to fit, so I didn't try that.

The rubber tyres are the killer to paint. You be sure to tell us all about the fun you had doing them !

Yeah ... Not looking forward to that. I remember how it was on my Strugglebuggy IV Ausf. F2. Still have nightmares. The running gear are always the most annoying bit about any model AFV build.

I spent part of the day painting the tools, not enough for an update but one will come soon when I've done a little more.
