I made the grills myself. Not to hard, just time consuming. I also bought the fan covers from MilitaryMightUK. I need both to be with the swirl spokes ‘vortex’ not straight. So I may have to buy a second set and sell or trade the straight set. Post some pics of your conversion. We might be able to swap ideas back and forth.

My conversion is still very much 'Work in Progress' I'm afraid (and not much progress at that!). I started it after buying a 21C 1/18th scale Panther with the idea of RC-ing it sometime but I quickly became disillusioned with that idea. Instead I thought I'd scratch build a 1/16th Hull and Turret and use the 21C wheels, hatches and engine deck pieces, with the sprockets tracks and suspension arms from a Tamiya Tiger (all this was before Heng Long arrived on the scene).

This is as far as I got. I've since decided to use the plastic tracks and metal sprockets from my Tamiya Panther since I upgraded that with Impact parts and I bought a spare Tamiya turret and barrel on e-bay.

I do want to finish it though and thought about making it a Panther 'A' with zimmeritt (hides all the bodge work!) just to be different. Hence the interest in your Panther 'D'. I might still use the 21C wheels as they don't look too much out of scale or I might get a set of Heng-Long or Tamiya spares instead.

I'm not intending to do any more work on it at the moment as I've other projects on the go (don't we all?) but I'll be watching your build thread with avid interest TC.

You scratched built that. It looks great. I was going to do the A, but I like beating my head against the wall so I chose the D. The A has a lot more in common with the G. Not to say it is easier, just less changes.  I on the other hand have my mates at DAK that keep pushing the bar higher so I have to try and at least keep up. So the D it is. I am already looking  for my next project. That's how sick I am.  Keep us posted on your build I am very interested. Again I like what you have done. Very skillful and creative.

Thanks Richard. I might just move the Panther up on the priority list. Your comments have sparked my interest again. Incidentally, when I started my Tamiya Panther, I tried the Tamiya hull top on my chassis and it fitted perfectly, as did my hull top on the Tamiya chassis. How about that for a fluke?
