The start to the .50 mount. I will be using a Tamiya 50, but this one was borrowed from the Priest. The stud on this one is short (stock) and leans a bit. I'll make a different/longer stud for the new one.

Eric, that is the best detailed 1/16 .50 cal. I have yet seen. I have ordered various .50 cals. over the past decade, cast metal, plastic, 3D, and none quite matches that one. E.g.: the Mato .50 cal., perhaps one of the best, doesn't lower far enough. And the ammunition boxes never quite look as good as the one you have. I wish that Tamiya 1/16 .50 cal. could be made available separately.

I think it is (or at least was), Mike sent me several back in 2016. I've used them sparingly on certain builds. The barrels are a separate piece and makes for a great "stored" spare barrel on the back of a Sherman turret.

Your traverse mechanism for the ring is the best that I've ever seen. I bought one (from Shapeways, I think) but it was small and flimsy compared to yours. Great job!

A little woozie, but OK. Compliments from the old guy is scarce but appreciated. He taught me this stuff and it is always good to hear from the wise old goat on the mountain (volcano).

Snakes in the crib was his idea of showing affection. I like snakes now...

Your ARV is just a bundle of extra detail parts - loving it!

Wow you've made a lot of amazing progress since I visited for the last time!
You're close to the finish line, I bet you'll be first to finish one the group build model and you'll have time to make a second!

Oh, shucks! I forgot to add the rule about finishing early...

Those who finish the Winter Build early have to send $500 or the equivalent in their country's currency to those who have not finished yet. :lolno:
