Some mistakes were self-made by me. I’d receive a hint from another modeller; this should now be removed. My Tiger belongs to the 2. company of the LAH, they have as below to see the unit marks directly at the Zimmerit coat painted; at the 3. company was it as at my Tiger before.

Image

The old markings were sanded and the areas prepared to apply Zimmerit coat.

Image

Image

As at my king tiger I’ve used again Apoxie Sculpt for the Zimmerit coat.

Image

Image

The first side is ready…

Image

…and simultaneously also the filling at the front plate.

Image

Also the defects around the Rommelkiste were at this way removed.

Image

Image

At the left side were continued and the tank again mounted and especially at the track cable ensured, that holders and tensioner are still functioning.

Image

Image

Image

Thereafter a search for some other mistakes around the Tiger.

Image

Image

Image

And I’ve found something – at the rear side the same mistake as at the front plate.

Image

Additionally I‘ve noticed, that at all pictures of this unit the binocular gunsight was shown. In January 1944 the unit receive their last Tiger 1; the monocular gunsight was used since March 1944.

Image

These mistakes were next time removed.

Just outstanding!

There's more detail in the track cable than on all my tanks put together!

Without any plan I’ve built another part. From a rest of a brass profile,…

Image

…a screw M1,…

Image

…and a toothpick arise a hand crank.

Image

This is part of the starter crank and is at a late Tiger located beside the antenna socket.

Image

Image

Image

Some other trivial things were changed. My monocular gunsight was changed to a binocular gunsight.

Image

Image

At the rear were the unit markings removed; at the left side also the zimmerit coat,…

Image

…at the right side only the decal.

Image

Image

Another change at the turret; the gaps between turret roof resp. turret floor and gun shield were reduced; not really scale but it looks better for me.

Image

Image

I hope I’ve all mistakes removed and it can go on with painting – next time.

...it goes on. :O
After a few considerations I’ve decided me against a new painting and only to do supplement at the camouflage pattern. All side skirts, the rear fenders, the new air intake, the idler wheels and a few road wheels were dismounted and then in dark yellow brushed.

Image

The repair at the upper hull and turret was made in mounted state. As usually I’ve brushed green and brown camouflage stripes.

Image

With the help of worn effects from AK Interactive were again a few defects within the camouflage stripes represented.

Image

Image

Image

Thereafter it goes on with the rear number at the „Rommelkiste“ and the German crosses at both sides. Used were again my own adhesive film.

Image

The stencil below were brushed in flat black,…

Image

…and above flat white.

Image

At the German cross were the adhesive film removed,…

Image

…the second for the white outline glued and was also in white brushed; here the result left…

Image

…and here right.

Image

The turret number receive their red inner colour.

Image

Thereafter I worked with three different filters. The flakes in the zimmerit coat were with red brown brushed.

Image

Image

Image

With pollution in the area of the lower hull it goes next time on.
