Well, Ecam, I have high regard for those here on RCTW who can model and do electronics in such a sophisticated way. My father started out as a tinner, but he soon just ran the company he built on others' money. (I think he got his "street smarts" in the South Pacific) Me, I never got the hang of cutting the stuff. Then, too, eons ago, I got to try out welding in high-school "shop class." I liked it, although I recall terror the first time I lit the acetylene. I always enjoyed modeling, pretty much OOB, as my inclinations seem to be elsewhere (you can't get a Ph.D. in modeling, although I think good modeling requires some of the finest dedication, self- and school-education, dexterity, skills, research, patience and heaven knows what else.)

"For the record, styrene is way easier to manipulate than most metals and it produces less burns." Yes, but there are hazards, including cuts from, say, the classic X-Acto knife "crotch catch" and the ever-enjoyable VOCs.

But darn few splinters!

More method moments;

For creating the four side plates for the side tool boxes I use a dab of glue and then clamp them together before a trip to the belt sander.
Turns out hiding the screws on the deck will be easier than I thought.

Pintles and rear pintle mount. Not sure why the are so over built except perhaps they were expecting serious abuse.

Testing the drag line.

Front light guards.
Spent all day on the turret. First I thought it was too tall so I took several MMs out. Then it was too short so I added some back. Started the turret storage.

Such a great build, I look forward to every update. You've got me "Hooked" Like all the big ole' Tonka trucks (the real metal ones) I had in my sandbox as kid. I had a crane too but yours is way cooler

Did rework the mortar legs, good enough for me.
Front road wheel mounts, a real PITA (not to be confused with PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals).
Still much left to do (recovery tools, pioneer tools, head lights, .50cal, spot light, fenders and I'm sure things that am forgetting...). Getting crowded, but it IS getting closer.
I thought the return rollers were rubber, but I've learned they are cast steel - so they will get some OD paint.
