I prefer entirely hand built and than painted so I guess Tamiya is the only option than, but I have seen something like this tho and manual shows a lot of assembly am I right

Yeah that’s me, glad I found this thread so I can see what you did about your wheel.

Yeah, that is a kit. Like I said I think they have like maybe 1-3 kits, but that’s it. Hooben has some kits too. I have a Mark IV from them I need to assemble.

I think Tamiya is the only one doing modern kits. Like the other guys said, you can easily buy a plastic “upgrade edition” Henglong, add the small bit of pieces they give you, repaint it, add a new drive system, add a new MFU, add servos, add lots of 3D printed pieces to your tank, some of which you glue on, some of which you have to cut out chunks of the hull and replace them. You’re not building it from scratch, but you kind of are. After all is said and done you’ll probably have spent as much a Tamiya or more, but have gained a lot of additional functionality over a Tamiya and also a lot of experience.

Buy a Challenger, just the basic all plastic one, as you will be throwing most of it away. It will keep you occupied for ages, and you skill set will escalate exponentially. You will end up with almost a hand built tank, and you will wonder why you struggled with a Tamiya kit. There is not enough modern stuff being built.

I heard it is the newest tank of Tamiya lineup if I am correct?

Yeah it could add up to more than a Tamiya model, but you can go as far as you want, or budget allows. It also allows you a greater variety of tanks to choose from, and Tamiya doesn’t always keep their models and extra parts well stocked, so there’s that too.
