Feel the same about the US light tanks. The various configurations of the Sherman are my overall favorites in vehicles built as tanks.

There is so much stuff on the Sherman and it's variant on the web the only problem will be deciding which one to build.
So many Fireflies already built. Try a Jackson a jumbo or a calliope, those are a few that tickle my fancy that are a little less ordinary.

Well Mato is supposed to come out with the Jackson...as well as the Wolverine....the Jumbo is a nice variant...esp with the Tiger paint..the Screaming mimi is definitely a favorite...built that in 1/35th scale many times...would build or do them all in 1/16...but the Firefly is the only one left that fits my genre ;)

After seeing ALPHA's build thread I decided to replace the molded in screens on the rear deck.
This is how I started doing mine and my progress so far.

Yep, you got me on the lift handles, forgot they had them positioned flopped onto the grill.

Wasn't hard to do the cutouts, I use the hot knife a lot. The fact that each screen is a different size made making them a little time consuming.

Doing the engine grills will take some time because I will have to build a box that goes into the hull from the sponsoon as HL didn't put bottoms on them.

Yeah you have to be more careful on that end...once the molded grill is gone there's no support for the side of the Hull...but you're going to put louvers in right...so boxes would be in order for those anyway...she's going to be sharp looking Giant ...I just know it

The louvers representing the louvers under the screens will only go under the small screens.

The engine air intakes don't appear on any picture If seen to have any grills below them just ductwork to the engine. After cutting the holes there through the hull is very week there that's where I'll build the box underneath to represent the air duct and when the hull is closed up it well just touch the lower hull stiffening that area up.
