I'll see if I can put one together over this coming weekend, I've got an untouched gearbox so will take some photo's of the strip down and re-assembly with the washers in place, there are a number of descriptions on this site of running in metal gearboxes with grinding paste and even toothpaste to smooth them out.

well, after getting a replacement set for left side ..which phil graciously warranted...i installed them and took my dog for a walk.....after oh 5 or 10 mins....yep blew out the right side.....oh well.....time to go steel..its only money ,you cant take it with you as they say........

theres some brass ones on ebay? £40... or pure steel ones from australia at about £50 not sure thos as it has 3-4 diff prices in all diff types £.$

what about brass? sonds soft but got to be better than them dull grey metal boxes
