Outstanding! Is that the Archer welds and numbers you used?

Yes Dan,
except those on the bogie-arms, which are 1,5mm high etched Aber numbers. Glued with CA, when dry I'll blend them in with a coat of Mr. Surfacer before priming......

Glad you liked it, John.

John: Thats's what I do. I blend wells and such with Mr Surfacer or Mr Dissolved Putty. Keep it up!

It's coming along very well. I noted the "drain" holes. I caught them too! Outstanding! I am building a turret for a friend here for a Crab too. There is so little out there as far as references for them that show them to good advatage. Bovington sent me about 30 pictures of the turret on their Crab II. It helped!

Hi guys,

In between household chores, yes SWMBO has to keep satisfied, I found some time to prime the metal parts of my Sherman. A lot of corners and sides to cover, so it took some time. Too bad nothing of this efford will show later on, but better to put some time in it, in stead of being confronted with bad adhering paint.....

John:

What have you been using for your welds?

Dan,

If you mean the welds on the lower hull: quite simple Vallejo acrylic plastic putty, comes in a tube with a very convenient small nozzle!! When dry a quick run with Mr. Surfacer to blend in the small gaps and done!!

OK,

After the prime job, I decided to check on some reference pic's.....stupid, I've should that BEFORE priming! I noticed some securing bolts on the bogie arms. So out came the Punch & Die, took some Evergreen card and started on the bolts. Resulting in this:

Lesson learned: FIRST do your homework, then start working....LOL

John:
I love the stuff. The small applicator end makes it especially useful for filling seams on figures. I was concerned with bonding issues on metal. Does it seem to bond as well as Miliput to the metal componets? I need to run my sponson welds and I think I will use the Valejo if you've used this on RC applications before.
