Update:
Per The Jolly Reaper-man's poking last night, here are a couple of pics of the Figure Paint on the Commander who comes with the HL King Tiger. At first glance this was a much better looking figure than usually comes with the HL armor, separate headphones and movable arms...then I got it under the magnifying glass on my tensor lamp and saw the mold imperfections and the scowl etched into the figure's face. I used a couple of the figure painting threads from the forum here, *thanks and 2 thumbs up!*, for tips and tricks because I really wanted this one to look good next to his King Tiger. The figure was molded in some green plastic so dark I took it for black at first glance. I set to work with an Exacto and a file for a few minutes sharpening up the clothing lines and trying to "put a smile on that face" After that. it was a coat of base flesh tone for the face and neck. Here's how it looked at start: Then 5 hours later of painting with a 3 hair brush and thinner and some vinyl paint for the whites of the eyes, I wound up with this: So, not perfect but not bad. The ink I used for the shoulder boards (which had to be filed out of the shoulders of the jacket) ran a little but I can live with it. I left the arms movable so he can be posed with the anti-aircraft defense weapon. This guy has a 5:00 shadow because he's been woken up, given a clean uniform and rushed to the train depot where his early model King Tiger is being loaded to try to get it as close to Normandy as possible before he has to drive it the rest of the way there. Fresh paint on the tank, new uniform for the Hauptmann. Lets wish him luck. The photos of the Tank itself are awaiting the return of the good camera this evening and will wind up in the 'Show Off' thread tonight. It's been a Blast doing this paint and mod, literally. ;)
regards,
Painless
