Interesting indeed.

If running w/ standard HL motors and HL metal gears with stock tracks.....is a cooling fan needed?

Here is what I have so far. Though I have not bench tested everything yet....I can not see why it should not work.

COOL NEWS! there are small 12V batteries! and they average about 2.00 to 4.00 USD a pop. You will find them at auto parts or Car Toyz like shops as they seem to be used in Auto alarm systems. I did not have any around so I the measurements and had the perfect brass tubing and cut it to size....PERFECT FIT! The only thing you need to do is gently spread and lay down the orange thin capacitors and the new battery will lay down the center.

The crystal is the tallest bit so I used the soldering iron and removed 'female plug' and gave it longer leads so it can be in the horizontal postion the fit was perfect.

You will need a thin piece of plastic or cardboard to insulate the two boards.

Here is the 2nd transmitter board. The left motor control stick wires just plug right in! You will need to solder the power and antenna wires.

Does anyone happen to have an extra Tiger Transmitter unit lying around?

No crystal's needed.

Goot question ------ How many channels are there for HL Tanks? Now I will need a 3rd to operate
my other Tiger as both '02' and '03' are being used for one Panzer.

Re: Anti Track recoil - UPDATE

Post by Herr Fritz »

UPDATE:

Been busy but have had some time to mess around with this idea some more.

RATS! a single 12v A23 style battery at 55mAH does not deliver the same amount of
amperage / juice as AA's that average 1000 to 3000 mAH depending on quality etc.

I have been told that if I place two or thee of them in parallel I will get the same voltage but
increase the amps some......and another thought ...depending on how the transmitters were
designed ( cheap....we all know that one ) they most likely need their own power supplies as
not to interfere with each others signals.

Now looking into a small power source that has similar amps like the AA batts do.
