I see what your doing. You be ok putting a resistor across the motor supply. Only possible concern is the extra current (0.5A), but I think you be ok, as Dietrich is running 480 motors using fan cooled RX18 which I’m sure is a more than 0.5A increase!

Regarding the time lag on the heater elements, I found the HL metal element to be quite responsive. The resistor takes longer as it isn’t initially meant to be a heat emitter and found takes a few minutes to heat up and cools off quickly.

Well , it's worth a try innit :D
  • I have 3 to 1 gearboxes which should permit a little leeway , and i'll be putting 3 amp fuses in , just to be safe .
. . . . Interesting about the resistor lag , looks like 3 HL type elements then , Ye gods !

Here it is , TB , pumping through a 7" length of 3mm tubing , the volume is reduced but still healthy ( the wick is getting dry ) - I will try and get the manifold done today and then we'll see . . .
