For grey i use XF 63 german grey and for the green i use XF58 olive green.

Hi This is what I need  numbers . There is also a red oxide primer from halfords this is good as well .Does anyone have any pics of the stugIII camo and panzer 4

hi pete, youve have started something here, i use humbrol enamels, i have for more than 35yrs, not because they are the best but because its what i am used to, i use german red brown(160)a sand colour(225)and a dark green(30)to paint german armour, and anything else allied, whatever looks right, i've tried tamiya but i dont like the stuff, as for weathering lou(pugwash)gave me the tip of using washes, and the rest i sort of make up as i go along

I have had good results with airbrushing Tamiya acrylics over 'large DIY store areosol can' red oxide primer, even with an $80 el-cheapo compressor and airbrush set (from the 'Harbor Freight Tool Company', for our US viewers...   )
Brushed Testors enamel on unprepared HL tanks was less sucessful - there's something not quite right about the hard edge you get with a brush at that scale (or maybe I'm just terrible at brush painting?)
Brushing Tamiya acrylics is not a good idea - a friend of mine insists its ok if you have a really soft brush, but I've yet to see it work well for me... (see above!)

Their choice of Tamiya colours for Tunisian Panzers is not the best tho ;o(

To add to this, I use a 80% thinner, 20% paint mix - it goes on really thin and dries fast enough that you can effectively apply 2 coats with the same batch of paint without going on too thick or chasing the paint around the model (unless you get water contamination anyway!) I guess your milage may vary back home - probably not too may 25+ Deg (in the shade) days to be had, right? (on the plus side, you have far less moisture in the air to contaminate your compressor!)

Hi Guys I am like Tony there was no option when I started modeling it was Humbrol paints or airfix ,I have been thinking of trying Tamiya paints for sometime but need advice on colours and what to use for thinners tamiya thinners metholated sprit isopropal accohol even seen somewhere Vodka.
