that's a good idea for the flag JohnF. I've just made one myself but as I didnt have any cloth I used a bit of tissue paper and it turned out not too bad. I sprayed white first then the red and coloured in the "cross" with a fine line permanent pen. the paint seems to bind the tissue and make it much stronger. Can I ask what you used for the MG? I think the only LED I have spare would be the BB warning one bt think a smaller one would be needed?

Hi, The mg is just a piece of brass tube. drilled some .75mm holes in the barrel. used 3mm ultrabright LED. Actually used the one from the heng ling tigers headlight as they are too bright for headlights. A piece of clear plastic rod inside the brass tube conducts the light. This mg was for my tiger turret. The rear light was again a piece of brass rod with cut outs dremilled out a piece of clear plastic rod inside. Drill a 3 mm hole in the back and insert a red LED. I have this attached to an elmod pro and it works perfectly. You can see the functioning in one of my video postings in the snow. Working on a new project now. Just got an Armortek 1/6 late Tiger. Assembling tracks all day.

Excellent look forward to seeing some pics of the later Tiger. Soon as i get some red paint I'm doing this idea.

Several years ago when I had models on display at South West Expo Bovington Tank Museum.
Only one of my models had the Nazi recognition flag on it. A visitor came over and suggested I cover the symbol up and should put a bit of sticky tape over the SS collar runes on two of the troops.
This amused us as the next hall he went into was the German section. As you enter they play Nazi songs, the displays have swastikas, SS uniforms, symbols plus lots of reference to that part of WW2. He went in.

I did lay a fuel can on the flag to cover it.
On the table opposite was an 8ft model of Bismarck and the foredeck has an enormous swastika painted on it he chose not to notice that.
Afterwards when chatting about it to other exhibitors they said they also had similar remarks made to them. (But by one person only).

Unfortunately it did happen!
As modellers we only try to be historically accurate, definitely not trying to glorify it or offend people.

It's funny you should mention stuff band on Ebay. I put a wooden replica of a stick grenade up last year, I got a few bids then some one complained and they took it off. It was a tad annoying....it was made of wood. Still got it if some one offers me £15 (that will be for postage aswell).
