Hi Guys Have seen this debate on other forums .The answer is when you do scale calculations angles remain the same all diamensions are reduced to the requried scale ,But you cant scale reduce the density of metal E.G.
a square block of steel 16cm X16cm weighs 32,1536Kg a 1cmx1cm block weighs 7,85 grms see here for metal weight calculator
http://www.matweb.com/tools/weightcalculator.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sorry to dent all your calculations .
But I must say that a heavy tank responds more like a real one than a light tank ,the suspension works better and turrets dont bounce and turn slower ,getting the gun not to bounce helps alot.

So 32.1536 divided by (16^3) also gives us 7.85 grams
This means the calculation in the first post is correct
Or am I missing something?
Thanks

Hi all,
As Miggers posted your local tyre dealership will have all the weights you want.
I think the ones in Saxondogs tasty build would be for mounting on a car fitted with alloy wheels.
You will be able to chose a from a range of weights - they should be flat as I recall and quite cheap to buy.
Just don’t let the grease monkeys try fitting them for you!!
Another source of bigger weights would be fishermans weights. Sea fishing tackle is heavier and with a bit of beach combing you can usually come back with at least couple from the tide line - for free!!

Hi Maybe your math is correct.

(didnt check just found the easy way )
But there are other factors, materials used balance weight distrubution, all affect how the model reacts.

Oh yes, my math is very simplistic. If we can get better figures, it would be great
So far 13kg is the best I can get

The weights in my Turret and hull are for custom wheels, thats why they are steel and plated/Lead weight are available but cost more. The plated weights I used are from Harbor Freight and cost 6.00us for a package of 64 1/2oz. weights.Just remember the backing is very strong, these are intended to be on a wheel spinning @70MPH.So be sure of your lay out,in the Tiger hull weights are placed in the fender area taped to the upper hull section. So when I attach my upper hull the weights are directly over the tracks and in a place that is clear of any components. Also my drive package is upgraded, gearbox, motors, pinion gear, sprockets, tracks and idler sprockets are all metal, and I have the Asiatam track tensioner s for solid track alignment.A custom double fan cooled RX18 that sits on long spanner nuts so the air can circulate through the RX18 and is forced out at the bottom, also the top fan is smaller and this causes the larger bottom fan to always be pulling heat not just air through the unit and discharging the heat and air into the lower hull area which is also well vented.I have been very happy with my Tiger and the way it moves, especially the way my gun does not bounce but sits down on the turret ring solidly.
