Re: Rock steady lower hulls....
Hi Dave I like the way the top deck opens,could you post details of how its done.The metal tub idea is also a great idea ,along with metal wheels and suspension it should be very ridged.

Re: Rock steady lower hulls....
Sorry for the late reply,my gearboxes are Asiatam from Welsh Dragon purchased when I ordered the Hull.The problem was the hull road to high that is why I kept adding weight.I used.Automotive wheel weights with the sticky tape back.These are under the upper hull over the fenders and secured in the back of my turret,The only issue has been the pinion gear slipping.To resolve that issue I have spaced the motors out from the gearbox frame and added pinion gears with set/grub screws and counter sunk the motor shafts so the gears have a solid lock.After these modification I have had no trouble.I do seem to recall so post about Tigers weighing 24lb and more,my weight was figured incorrectly at first as I had no digital scale but have recently been able to correct the amount.After adding the weights my Tiger moved better and now rides over objects instead of bouncing over,now the control arms move much better up and down.But I also have to say that the hull modification by Dave are brilliant,really well done. cheers Blake

I had forgotten about this build last year by Alb( Dietrich ) and it seems he has built a very strong hull to say the least,Sax http://rctankwarfare.co.uk/forums/viewt ... =22&t=3875" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Rock steady lower hulls....
Thanks for the reply Sax, I am planning a heavy build Tiger now _ might even beef up the Mattro Stumtiger model.
I see what you mean about the extra weight helping your ride height – never thought about a lighter model bouncing about though.
Great info on Alb’s hull build - It got me raiding some scrap alloy panels I saw in a skip I noticed the other day.
It’s a start at least for me!

It always gets darkest before it goes completley black......

If you need help just ask,great bunch on this forum.And their are sections with information you may not of considered.Their are downloads for figuring scale gearing,speed,torque and all based on which gearbox/motor/pinion gear combination.This is an excel format by swathdiver that you can change the information,and put in your motor speeds,and change the pinion gear to find your scale speed and other values. Their are build sections for all makes and brands of tanks,sections on video,books,camo paint schemes.really more than I can list here.But always ask if you need help and enjoy the forum.cheers Blake
